Lahinch Seaworld Leisure Centre currently has vacancies in the following areas:
Position: Leisure Centre Manager
Department: Part of the General Management Team
Reporting to: The Chairman of the Board of Directors
Qualification: Degree in Business or equivalent experience
Scope of position:
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for all aspects of the business from marketing, franchise management and operational management. As the Centre has a number of businesses which include, pool, aquarium, gym, children’s soft play area and shop, the Leisure Centre Manager will take full responsibility for the success of the business in conjunction with the Board of Directors.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the whole complex assuming full responsibility for the operational, promotion and profitability of the Lahinch Seaworld as a whole.
- Responsible for the management of the centre team as well as ensuring high standards are adhered to as would be expected of any community/commercial facility.
- Management of Employees ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained at all times and that appropriate employee development and training is undertaken to ensure the facility is operated successfully.
- Maintain a high standard of Customer Service and Focus at all times, ensuring that the Customer is at the centre of all business activities.
- Devise an appropriate marketing strategy for the complex and report against agreed deliverables to the Board on a quarterly basis.
- Work to tight budgets within each business offering keeping tight control on costs and return on investment.
- Provide monthly analysis to the Board on financial and commercial issues and associated projects and development of the business.
- Contribute to maximising customer usage of the Seaworld facilities including the introduction of new initiatives, and to drive the marketing efforts of Lahinch Seaworld in a systematic fashion.
- Work to ensure that Lahinch Seaworld becomes an employer of choice within the Clare area.
Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes
- Minimum 3 years experience in Managing and Marketing the operational elements of a consumer based business in delivering a service to the public.
- Strong operational management and marketing exposure.
- Proven ability at leading & managing both part time and full time employees and engendering a good place to work mentality.
- Capable of dealing with all employees on day to day issues including employee development and grievance handling where necessary.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the business, employees, board and customers.
- Strong project management and financial management skills.
- Must be proficient in IT and all Microsoft suite packages.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the leisure or hospitality business sector.
- Be capable of demonstrating how their past experience could assist Lahinch Seaworld in the future.
